The wine

A rarity: true Eiswein from Grüner Veltliner, pressed from grapes frozen on the vine. Sweet peaches and ripe melon with vanilla lead to a richly textured palate whose sweetness is beautifully balanced, rich but never cloying, with great length and freshness throughout. Apricot tart, blue cheese or quiet astonishment. 37.5cl bottle.

Weingut Rabl is a byword for quality in the prestigious Kamptal, with a vine-growing tradition stretching back to 1750. Under Rudolf Rabl Jr the estate farms 100 hectares of the best hillside vineyards in and around Langenlois, where the Kamp Valley's unique microclimate and mineral-rich soils give Grüner Veltliner of unusual depth and cut.
