Devaux Ultra D Champagne NV

The wine
Pale gold with a fine, persistent mousse indicative of long bottle ageing.
Ultra D is bottled with no dosage at all, meaning no sugar is added at disgorgement, so the wine stands entirely on its own ripeness and its years on lees. Only a Champagne with real concentration can carry that, which is why the D Collection draws on the most highly selected fruit the house has. Devaux are based at Bar-sur-Seine in the Côte des Bar, the southern tip of Champagne, and are Pinot Noir specialists.
The producer
Devaux
View all Devaux winesChampagne Devaux is a distinguished house based in the Côte des Bar, the southernmost and increasingly celebrated corner of Champagne. Founded in 1846 and now led by the Union Auboise, it draws on a wealth of grower vineyards in this Pinot Noir heartland. Its wines marry scale with a real sense of terroir.
The Côte des Bar, closer to Chablis than to Reims, is prized for its powerful, fruit-driven Pinot Noir grown on Kimmeridgian limestone. Devaux builds its blends around this rich base, adding Chardonnay for finesse. Long ageing on the lees is central to the house style.
In the cellar, Devaux is known for extended maturation, especially in its flagship D range, aged five years or more. This lees ageing gives the wines their depth, creaminess and toasty complexity. Precision and patience define every cuvée.
From the classic Grande Réserve to the refined, long-aged Cuvée D and vintage Millésimé, Devaux offers Champagne of real character and value. Rich, complex and beautifully made, these are wines for celebration and the table alike.
