Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Blancs NV (37.5cl)
£47.75
The wine
A pale, crystalline gold. The nose is characterised by aromas of mature fruit and depth.
Blanc de Blancs is Chardonnay alone, which gives the leanest and longest-lived Champagne. This one combines ten of the best Chardonnay crus from three growing areas. Charles Heidsieck was founded in 1851 by a man who became known in America as Champagne Charlie, and the house is celebrated for the depth of its reserve wines. This is the half bottle.

View all Charles Heidsieck winesCharles Heidsieck is one of Champagne's most revered houses, founded in 1851 by the charismatic Champagne Charlie who first brought the region's wines to America. Today it is celebrated above all for the depth and maturity of its Champagnes, built on a treasure of reserve wines aged in ancient Gallo-Roman chalk cellars beneath Reims. Few houses have such a distinctive signature.
That signature is richness and generosity, a mature, biscuity depth that sets the wines apart from the crowd. From the benchmark Brut Réserve to an elegant Blanc de Blancs and a gastronomic rosé, each is unmistakably Charles Heidsieck.
Complex, mature and beautifully made, these are Champagnes for lovers of real substance. They reward the table as much as the toast, and drinkers who prize depth over mere freshness.
Serve well chilled, as an aperitif or with richer dishes, and toast in real style.
