The wine

A Champagne of exceptional finesse and aromatic complexity, with brioche, hazelnut and tobacco nuances layered with minerality and wonderful depth of fruit. Silky and elegant with great concentration. Zéro dosage, from the outstanding 2002 vintage, and almost entirely Chardonnay.

Champagne Duval-Leroy was founded in 1859 with the alliance of the Duval and Leroy families, and has passed down six generations. It remains one of the last genuinely independent, family-owned Champagne houses.

In 1991, Carol Duval-Leroy took over and led the house for more than thirty years, becoming one of the most respected figures in the region. Femme de Champagne, the prestige cuvee, is named in that spirit. Based at Vertus in the Côte des Blancs, the house has a natural affinity with Chardonnay, and a long-standing commitment to sustainable viticulture.
