Domaine de Castelnau Garenne Rosé Pays d’Oc 2025
£10.75
The wine
Delicate pale pink, with fresh strawberry and grapefruit zest. The palate is elegant.
Rosé under the Pays d Oc label can be made from any permitted variety in any proportion, which is why the region produces so much of it and so much variety within it. The Languedoc is the largest wine region in France by area, and for most of the twentieth century it produced bulk wine. The transformation since the 1990s has been the most dramatic anywhere in the country, and Pays d Oc is the regional IGP that gives growers freedom the appellations do not.
