Château La Verrerie Luberon Rosé 2024

The wine
Pale pink with purple highlights. Distinct rose petal aromas on the nose with lift behind.
Pressed early with minimal skin contact so only the palest colour is drawn. The Luberon sits at the eastern edge of the southern Rhône, higher and cooler than the valley floor, and the regional park it lies within limits development in a way that has kept the landscape and the farming intact. That altitude is why the wines keep freshness where the Rhône below can turn heavy. Château La Verrerie has 56 hectares in the Luberon, certified organic, with about 70% of production red.
The producer
Château La Verrerie
View all Château La Verrerie winesChâteau La Verrerie sits in the Luberon, the beautiful southern Rhône region where Provence and the Rhône valley meet. Its vineyards climb the slopes of the Luberon hills, cooled by altitude and the mistral. This is one of the appellation's leading estates.
The high, well-drained sites suit both Rhône reds and fresh whites, from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre to Viognier, Vermentino and Clairette. Cooling nights preserve acidity and perfume in the fruit. Careful, increasingly organic farming underpins the range.
Winemaking aims for elegance and freshness rather than sheer power, unusual for the warm south. The reds and rosés are bright and fragrant, the whites crisp and aromatic. The Luberon's cooler character runs through every wine.
La Verrerie offers refined, food-friendly wines from a rising corner of the Rhône. Fresh, perfumed and beautifully balanced, they show just how much finesse the Luberon can achieve.
