Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Greco Fiano 2025
£11.75
The wine
Pale yellow with green reflections. Intense tropical fruit notes with lift behind.
Greco and Fiano are the two great white grapes of southern Italy, both thought to have arrived with Greek settlers, and blending them gives the weight of one and the perfume of the other. Grown on volcanic ash at altitude, they keep an acidity that most southern Italian whites lose. Vigneti del Vulture work the slopes of Monte Vulture in Basilicata, an extinct volcano in the poorest and least travelled region of Italy.

Vigneti del Vulture
View all Vigneti del Vulture winesVigneti del Vulture takes its name from Monte Vulture, the extinct volcano that dominates the landscape of Basilicata in southern Italy. Here, on dark volcanic soils, the estate crafts wines from Aglianico, one of the country's most noble red grapes.
The high, cool vineyards on the volcano's slopes give Aglianico del Vulture its distinctive tension, marrying southern ripeness with a savoury, mineral edge and firm structure.
The Pipoli range offers approachable, characterful drinking in both red and white, while the Piano del Cerro is the estate's structured, age-worthy flagship Aglianico.
Distinctive, mineral and proudly volcanic, these are wines of real southern depth. Discover the noble Aglianico of Vulture.
