The wine

A Grand Cru of lovely intensity and poise, with floral notes of linden and acacia. Expressive and beautifully balanced, rich fruits layered with hints of honey and almond. Blanchot is the easternmost Grand Cru, the most delicate and perfumed of the seven.

Thomas Labille is an accomplished winemaker in the heart of Chablis, making eponymous cuvees that carry all the hallmarks of top-quality Chablis. The domaine was founded in 1987 with just eleven hectares of vine alongside eighty hectares of cereal; by 1992 the grain had gone entirely and the focus turned to wine. Significant investment in the winery followed, and the estate flourished.

Thomas took over in 2019, bringing a natural flair and a philosophy of sustainable viticulture. His range climbs from village Chablis through the Premiers Crus of Montmains and Vosgros to the Grand Cru Blanchot: expressive, beautifully balanced and increasingly hard to keep in stock.
