Antonella Corda Vermentino di Sardegna 2025

The wine
From Mitza Manna, the calcareous hillside vineyard that was Antonio Argiolas’ favourite, Antonella Corda’s Vermentino is a benchmark for Sardinia. One hundred per cent Vermentino, fermented in stainless steel and aged six months on its lees.
Aromatic and finely textured, it offers white blossom, citrus and Mediterranean herbs over a saline, mineral palate with a gentle almond bite on the long finish. Distinctive and elegant, a natural with seafood, shellfish and the sun. Serve well chilled.
The producer
Antonella Corda
View all Antonella Corda winesAntonella Corda makes some of Sardinia’s most refined wines, and she comes by it honestly: she is the granddaughter of Antonio Argiolas, the legendary viticulturist who did more than anyone to put the island on the wine map. Wine, as she puts it, is in her blood.
After studying agronomy at Sassari and winemaking at the renowned Edmund Mach Foundation in Trentino, she returned home in 2010 to take up two prized vineyards inherited from her grandfather, near the village of Serdiana just north of Cagliari. From them she has built a boutique, organically farmed estate of rare focus.
The vineyards tell the story: Mitza Manna, her grandfather’s favourite, on calcareous, herb-scented hills, and the pebbly old riverbed of Mitza S’ollastu. Sea winds and these distinctive soils give her wines their signature: freshness, perfume and a clear Sardinian accent.
From the aromatic, almond-tinged Vermentino to the elegant, peppery Cannonau, these are subtle, authentic wines of real class. Sardinia, gracefully reimagined by one of its brightest talents.
