Tablas Creek Paso Robles Roussanne 2024
£43.45
The wine
A powerful nose of ripe pear skin, honey and brioche. The palate is broad and textured.
Roussanne is difficult in the vineyard, prone to disease and irregular yields, and rarely bottled alone anywhere. Tablas Creek were among the first in California to take it seriously, using the Beaucastel selection. Tablas Creek was founded in Paso Robles as a partnership between the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel and the importer Robert Haas, planted with cuttings imported directly from Beaucastel and quarantined for years before release. Certified organic since 2003 and biodynamic since 2017.

Tablas Creek
View all Tablas Creek winesTablas Creek is where Châteauneuf-du-Pape meets the California coast. The estate was founded by the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel together with importer Robert Haas, who carried cuttings of the great Rhône varieties across the Atlantic and planted them in the limestone hills of west Paso Robles.
Everything here begins in the soil. Tablas Creek was the first vineyard in the world to earn Regenerative Organic Certification, farming with sheep, compost and a nursery of estate vines rather than chemistry. The result is wine of unmistakable place, poised between Old World restraint and Californian generosity.
The Esprit de Tablas bottlings are the estate's statement, Mourvèdre-led reds and Roussanne-rich whites of depth and longevity. The Patelin range draws on the wider Paso Robles community for wines of immediate, sun-warmed charm, while single-variety cuvées of Mourvèdre and Roussanne show the purity of each grape.
These are wines of texture and quiet confidence, built for the table and for the cellar. Discover the estate that proved the Rhône could feel utterly at home in California.
