Sattlerhof Sauvignon Blanc Trockenbeerenauslese 2025 (37.5cl)
£34.75
The wine
A rare Trockenbeerenauslese from Sauvignon Blanc, made from individually selected, shrivelled berries whose sugar has concentrated on the vine. The result is a luscious sweet wine at just 6.5% alcohol.
The fruit comes from organic and biodynamic vineyards in and around Gamlitz in the Südsteiermark, close to the Slovenian border: 40-year-old vines on steep slopes at 350 to 450 metres, over sand, gravel and limestone. All the vineyard work is done by hand. The Sattler family have made wine here since 1887. Serve chilled with blue cheese or fruit desserts.

The vineyards cling to dramatic slopes of limestone and slate, where cool nights and a long growing season give the wines their electric freshness, aromatic purity and profound minerality. Farming is meticulous and the winemaking gentle and precise.
