Sanama Reserva Chardonnay 2025

The wine
Chardonnay reflects its ground rather than imposing a flavour of its own, so a Chilean example comes out riper and broader than a Burgundian one, with stone fruit in place of green apple.
Sanama is made in the Cachapoal valley in Chile, on the generous alluvial soils of the valley floor. Chile is protected from phylloxera by the Atacama desert to the north, the Pacific to the west and the Andes to the east, so its vines grow on their own roots rather than grafted rootstock, which is unusual almost anywhere else in the world. Handled cool from the moment it reaches the winery and fermented under temperature control to keep the fruit fresh and direct.
