Rare Champagne Millésime 2012
£177.95
The wine
Rich aromas suggesting brioche, almond, mango, guava and bergamot, with real depth behind.
The 2012 vintage was small and concentrated in Champagne after a difficult growing season, and is widely regarded as one of the finest of the decade. Rare is declared only in exceptional years, so vintages appear a decade or more apart. Rare Champagne began as a single cuvée made for the 1976 vintage and became its own house in 2018, with Régis Camus, long the chef de cave at Piper-Heidsieck, as its guardian.
