Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage NV
£51.75
The wine
Deep scarlet red, with blackberry, blackcurrant and strawberry on the nose. The palate gives ripe orange with hints of saffron and a lively acidity.
Rosé Sauvage is deliberately the most vivid rosé Champagne on the market, made by blending a high proportion of red wine into the base rather than by brief skin contact. That is why the colour is scarlet rather than pale pink and why it stands up to food. Fruit from the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Aube and Vallée de la Marne.
