Ormarine Les Clavelines Lies Fines Picpoul de Pinet 2025

The wine
A refreshing and expressive Picpoul, with floral nuances, stone fruits and zesty citrus notes through to a long, delicious and mouthwatering finish. Lies fines means fine lees: the wine is left on its spent yeast after fermentation, which adds texture and a little breadth to what is otherwise a lean style. Picpoul de Pinet is grown on the shore of the Etang de Thau, and the lagoon keeps the wine taut where the Mediterranean heat would otherwise flatten it. The traditional match is a plate of oysters farmed in that same water.

Ormarine
View all Ormarine winesCave de l'Ormarine is among the most successful cooperatives in the Languedoc, farming close to 4,500 acres, of which roughly 1,160 are planted to Picpoul Blanc. That single variety is the reason the cooperative matters. Picpoul is fresh, zippy and unmistakably of its place, and Ormarine has done as much as anyone to establish Picpoul de Pinet as a name worth knowing beyond the south of France.
