Monrouby Chardonnay IGP Côtes de Thau 2025
£10.95
The wine
Pale yellow, with bright melon fruit lifted by lemon zest notes.
From low-lying hills around the Bassin de Thau, where the lagoons and the sea moderate the heat. Côtes de Thau is a small IGP within the wider Languedoc, and coastal sites like these are where Chardonnay can hold its acidity this far south. The variety reflects its ground rather than imposing a flavour of its own, so a warm coastal site gives melon and citrus in place of green apple. Monrouby is a Languedoc label working around the Bassin de Thau, the string of coastal lagoons west of Montpellier.
