Les Caves de Richemer Piquepoul 2025

The wine
Pale lemon. Vibrant citrus and white floral aromas, with a lively acidity on the palate.
The vineyards sit outside the Picpoul de Pinet appellation, which is why the label uses the older spelling Piquepoul rather than Picpoul. Same grape, same lip-stinging acidity: the name means lip-stinger. The Étang de Thau is the string of coastal lagoons that produces most of France oysters, and the vineyards beside it are where the Languedoc grows its most saline, citrus-driven whites.

Les Caves de Richemer
View all Les Caves de Richemer winesCaves de Richemer lies between the Mediterranean and the Lagune de Thau, on the coast of the southern Languedoc. The co operative oversees a thousand hectares of sustainably farmed vines in the Hérault.
The name comes from a 19th century tale of a modest winegrower, Henri Richet, who made his fortune trading wines from the old port of Marseillan and earned the nickname Henri de Richemer. The seahorse on the label, native to the lagoon, is the cellar's emblem.
The range captures the fresh, coastal character of the region, from a zesty, saline Piquepoul to an aromatic Terret Blanc.
Crisp, saline and full of Mediterranean character, the Richemer wines are made for seafood and sunshine. They are fresh, honest and great value. Coastal Languedoc at its most refreshing.
