The wine

A refreshing and richly flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with exotic juicy peach complemented by delicate wild flowers. Soft and rounded, with a lovely crisp, mouthwatering finish. Menetou-Salon sits on the same limestone as Sancerre, a few miles west, and costs appreciably less.

This family winery is the venture of Joost and Miguela de Willebois, descendants of an old French family established in the Netherlands since the nineteenth century, where the V became a W. Passionate about French culture and the Loire, they settled in Touraine in the 1990s.

The range is a tour of the Loire's Sauvignon country: Touraine, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Pouilly-Fumé and Sancerre, including the single-soil Silex and Marnes Kimmeridgiennes bottlings that show precisely what terroir does to one grape.
