The wine
Enticing delicate honeydew and nectarine followed by white peach and cashew.
The Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills is a very cool site at around 500 metres, which is why Chardonnay from it keeps such tension rather than the tropical weight warmer Australian regions give. The Hills sit several hundred metres above the plains and are among the coolest parts of South Australia. Jeffrey Grosset founded his winery at Auburn in the Clare Valley in 1981 and is generally regarded as the finest Riesling producer in Australia.

View all Grosset winesGrosset is one of Australia's most revered wineries, founded by Jeffrey Grosset in the Clare Valley of South Australia. It is celebrated above all for Riesling, and its Polish Hill is regarded as one of the world's great examples. The estate sets the benchmark for Australian white wine.
The vineyards are farmed organically across the Clare Valley and the cooler Adelaide Hills, matching each site to the grape it suits. Slate and schist soils and cool nights give the wines their precision and drive. Grosset is a pioneer of quality and sustainability.
Beyond the iconic Polish Hill Riesling, the range takes in an elegant Adelaide Hills Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the Gaia Cabernet blend and the Nereus Shiraz. Each is pure, precise and age-worthy. They are Australian classics.
Grosset's wines combine intensity with elegance and a rare sense of place. They rank among Australia's very finest. A true benchmark estate.
