Dreissigacker Wunderwerk Rheinhessen Spätburgunder 2018
£55.25
The wine
Ruby red, perfumed and elegant, with red berries, cedar and cinnamon.
Spätburgunder is the German name for Pinot Noir, and Germany is now the third largest grower of the variety in the world after France and the United States, which surprises most people. Wunderwerk is the estate top bottling of it, given time in barrel and released with several years of age already behind it. Jochen Dreissigacker farms at Bechtheim in the Rheinhessen, certified organic since the 2010 vintage and working much of the estate biodynamically.
