Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros 2021
£74.45
The wine
The 2021 Bougros, from a cool, low-yielding vintage that produced Chablis of real tension. Citrus, apple and flint on the nose; the palate tauter than usual for the site, with racy acidity and fine depth. One for those who like their Grand Cru with an edge.

View all William Fèvre winesWith a history spanning more than 250 years, Domaine William Fèvre holds the largest collection of Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis: some 78 hectares, including parcels in all seven Grands Crus.
William Fèvre himself came from a long line of Chablis growers and took the reins in 1959, expanding the estate through shrewd acquisition and building a formidable reputation. He retired in 1998, and the domaine is now owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, with Didier Seguier at the helm since that handover.
Seguier stripped back the oak, championed sustainability and let the limestone speak. The wines today are among the most precise expressions of Chablis made by anyone: taut, saline and utterly transparent to their terroir. The negociant Petit Chablis and Chablis carry the William Fèvre name; everything from the village Chablis upwards is Domaine fruit.
