Domaine Rolet Tradition Arbois Blanc 2018
£29.75
The wine
Straw coloured with silver reflections. Intense nutty aromas of almond, walnut and roasted notes.
Tradition is the oxidative style, aged under the veil, and it blends Chardonnay with Savagnin, the native grape that takes best to the method. The Jura lies between Burgundy and Switzerland on grey marl, and it makes wine unlike anywhere else in France. Its whites are often aged *sous voile*, under a veil of yeast in barrels deliberately left unfilled, which gives the nutty, oxidative character that made the region famous and which almost nobody else attempts.
