Domaine Joël Delaunay Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2025

The wine
Pale lemon, with an expressive nose of grapefruit and stone fruits and a hint of blackcurrant leaf.
Touraine sits in the middle Loire around Tours, west of Sancerre along the river, and it is where Loire Sauvignon Blanc becomes affordable. The soils are flint, clay and limestone rather than the Kimmeridgian marl of the east, giving a slightly softer, fruitier style. Domaine Joël Delaunay work at Saint-Georges-sur-Cher in Touraine, farming sustainably, with 90% of production white.

View all Domaine Joël Delaunay winesIn the heart of the Touraine, in the Loire Valley, Domaine Joël Delaunay crafts bright, honest wines that capture the region easy charm. A family estate, it farms a patchwork of vineyards around the town of Saint-Georges-sur-Cher. The philosophy here is refreshingly straightforward.
Delaunay works with the classic Loire grapes, chiefly Sauvignon Blanc and Gamay, on soils of clay, limestone, and sand. Careful farming and gentle winemaking keep the focus on freshness and fruit. Nothing is overworked, and the results are pure and immediate.
The range runs from crisp Sauvignon to juicy Gamay and charming rosé, alongside a playful skin-contact orange wine. Each bottling is designed for pleasure, offering plenty of character at a genuinely welcoming price.
