The wine
Menetou-Salon sits just west of Sancerre on the same limestone, and offers much the same pleasure for rather less money. Fresh grapefruit and gooseberry over a clean mineral base, crisp and thoroughly moreish.

View all Domaine Gérard Millet winesBased at Bue in the heart of Sancerre, the Millet family has been making wine for more than five generations. The domaine is run today by Gérard and Isabelle with their son Steve, across 24 hectares, of which 19 lie within the Sancerre appellation.
The range covers the ground properly: neighbouring Menetou-Salon, classic Sancerre blanc, the single-parcel Le Désert du Petit Bannon, and a serious Sancerre rouge from Pinot Noir.
