Dievole Campinovi Trebbiano 2023
£24.95
The wine
Pale straw yellow with golden reflections. Intense and refined on the nose.
Trebbiano is among Italy most planted whites and its least understood, made as neutral bulk wine in most places but capable of real texture and almond-tinged length from a good site at altitude. Chianti Classico was long required to include white grapes in its red blend, which is how so much Trebbiano came to be planted there in the first place. Dievole farm over 150 hectares between 270 and 420 metres in Chianti Classico.

Dievole
View all Dievole winesDievole is a historic estate in the heart of Chianti Classico, its roots reaching back over a thousand years to the hills near Siena. One of Tuscany's grandest and oldest properties, it combines deep heritage with a modern, organic outlook. Its name is woven into the story of the region.
Sangiovese is the soul of Dievole, grown on the galestro and clay soils of the Chianti Classico hills at altitude. The estate farms organically across a patchwork of distinct parcels, from young vines to prized single crus. A little Trebbiano rounds out the range with a fresh white.
In the cellar, the approach balances tradition with precision, ageing the reds in oak to build structure while preserving Sangiovese's bright, savoury fruit. The wines range from a joyful Chianti Classico to a profound Gran Selezione. Purity and place guide every decision.
From a fresh Trebbiano to the single-vineyard Vigna di Sessina, Dievole offers Chianti Classico at its most authentic. Elegant, savoury and food-friendly, these are wines that speak of Tuscany's storied hills.
