David Moret Puligny-Montrachet 2024
£81.75
The wine
Pale golden hues with zesty citrus aromas. Generous on the palate with spicy undertones and length.
Puligny-Montrachet sits on thin soil over hard limestone with a high water table, so the vines struggle and the wines come out taut and mineral rather than broad. It is the leanest and longest-lived of the three great white communes. David Moret works as a négociant from Beaune, buying fruit from growers across the Côte d Or and vinifying everything himself in a cellar under the old town.

David Moret
View all David Moret winesDavid Moret is a respected négociant-éleveur based in Beaune, at the heart of Burgundy's Côte d'Or. Since establishing his own house, he has built a reputation for immaculate white Burgundy from the great villages of the Côte de Beaune. His name is a mark of purity and precision.
Working with carefully sourced grapes from Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and beyond, Moret is above all a master of élevage, the art of ageing. The famed limestone soils of the Côte give his Chardonnays their cut and minerality. Only the finest parcels make the cut.
In the cellar, restraint and patience define the style. Wines are barrel-aged with a judicious touch of oak, always in service of freshness and terroir. The results are taut, mineral and beautifully balanced, from village wines to grand cru.
From an everyday Aligoté to the majestic Corton-Charlemagne, David Moret offers white Burgundy at its most refined. Precise, ageworthy and true to their origins, these are wines for lovers of the Côte d'Or.
