The wine
A lovely pale powder pink hue, with a refreshing character of ripe strawberries combined with stone fruits, classic Provencal rosé. Château de l'Aumerade is one of only eighteen estates still holding Cru Classe status in Provence, a classification created with the appellation in 1955.

Château de l'Aumérade
View all Château de l'Aumérade winesChâteau de l'Aumerade is a 400-year-old estate in the heart of Provence. The original Mas belonged to the Aumerat family and dates to the Renaissance. In 1594 the Duke of Sully, finance minister to Henri IV, presented the chateau with a mulberry and plane trees for its gardens, in thanks for supplying the royal court.
Henri Fabre and his wife Charlotte fell for the place in 1930 and bought it, with its 300 hectares of vineyard, from the Aumerat family. When the Provence appellation was created in 1955 the chateau was designated Cru Classe, a classification that ranks the estate rather than the vineyard. Only eighteen still hold it. The estate is run today by Caroline Demey.
