The wine
An intense bouquet of ripe, deep red fruits backed by sweet toasted spice. Smooth, velvety and elegant, with attractive mocha, caramel and toasted notes enveloping well-integrated tannins through a fine finish. Note the trace of Carménère in the blend, a Bordeaux native now far more famous in Chile.

Château Boutisse
View all Château Boutisse winesChâteau Boutisse is a substantial Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate on the limestone plateau at Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, east of the town. Owned by the Milhade family, it has been steadily upgraded and now makes wine of considerable polish. Merlot dominates, with a little Cabernet and even a trace of Carménère, that near-extinct Bordeaux native now more famous in Chile. Velvety, elegant and generously oaked.
