Château Boutisse is a substantial Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate on the limestone plateau at Saint-Etienne-de-Lisse, east of the town. Owned by the Milhade family, it has been steadily upgraded and now makes wine of considerable polish. Merlot dominates, with a little Cabernet and even a trace of Carménère, that near-extinct Bordeaux native now more famous in Chile. Velvety, elegant and generously oaked.
