Cantina di Monteforte Terre di Monteforte Pinot Grigio Rosato 2025
£10.75
The wine
Pinot Grigio Rosato is made by leaving the juice briefly on the skins, which is possible because the grape has pink-grey skins rather than green ones.
That is the same colour the Friulians draw deliberately in a ramato, and it makes a rosé from a variety most people think of as white. Cantina di Monteforte work the volcanic hills of the Soave zone east of Verona, where the same co-operative makes Garganega on the classico slopes.

Cantina di Monteforte
View all Cantina di Monteforte winesIn the heart of Soave Classico, on the volcanic slopes around Monteforte d'Alpone, this cooperative has made fresh, fragrant Garganega its life's work. These are the finest hills in Soave, where old basalt soils and cool mountain air give the wines their signature mineral lift. It is a landscape built for elegant whites.
From single-vineyard Soave Superiore to a pretty Pinot Grigio rosato, the range is all about freshness and finesse. Every wine is made to express its origin, with clarity and quiet detail rather than weight or oak.
Gracious, gastronomic and beautifully priced, they show Soave at its charming best. This is a wine too often overlooked, made here with real care and pride.
Serve them well chilled, as an aperitif or with lighter dishes, and rediscover one of Italy's great and most underrated white wines.
