Canal Grando Prosecco Extra Dry

The wine
A gentle mousse carries an aromatic bouquet of vibrant citrus fruit combined with subtle floral character. Crisp and refreshing, this delicate Prosecco has a rounded palate and an irresistibly fruity finish. Named after the Grand Canal, from a cellar not far from it.
Made by Bosco Viticultori, and named for the Grand Canal in Venice. Extra Dry is confusingly sweeter than Brut, at 12 to 17 grams of residual sugar per litre, and it is the traditional Prosecco style. That touch of sugar rounds out Glera's brisk acidity and carries its pear and white-flower character.

Canal Grando
View all Canal Grando winesCanal Grando is a Prosecco produced by Bosco Viticultori in the Veneto, and the name is a nod to the Grand Canal in Venice, the city whose merchants did more than anyone to spread Italian wine across medieval Europe.
Prosecco is made from Glera, a grape renamed in 2009 when the Italian authorities converted Prosecco from a variety name into a protected place name, which stopped producers elsewhere from using it. The wine is fermented in pressurised tank by the Charmat method, preserving the fresh pear and blossom aromatics that bottle fermentation would obscure.
Extra Dry, confusingly, is sweeter than Brut, permitting 12 to 17 grams of residual sugar per litre. It is the traditional Prosecco style and the one most Italians drink, the touch of sugar rounding out Glera's brisk acidity.
