The wine

Wonderfully elegant, marrying zippy citrus fruit and crunchy apple with subtle toasty aromas. Beautifully textured on the palate, with a marked minerality on the lingering finish.

Pouilly-Fuissé gained its first premiers crus in 2020, the first new ones in Burgundy for decades, and Sur la Roche is among the twenty-two climats promoted. It sits high beneath the limestone escarpment of Solutré, which is where the minerality comes from. Pressed whole bunch over three hours before barrel fermentation.
