Zin Heaven offers a bright, vibrant rosé with a dramatic, theatrical presentation, evocative of a glamorous era and every bit as fruity as its label suggests.
Zinfandel Blush was created by accident. In 1975 a Zinfandel fermentation at Sutter Home stopped before it finished, leaving a pink, faintly sweet wine that was bottled anyway and became White Zinfandel. It went on to be the most popular wine in the United States, and it rescued California's old Zinfandel vineyards, which were being pulled up for want of a market.
Zinfandel itself is one of the great puzzles of wine, its origins unknown for two centuries until DNA analysis in the early 2000s proved it identical to Primitivo in Puglia and to the near-extinct Croatian variety Tribidrag.
