Château Desmirail is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification, in Margaux, owned by Denis Lurton of the great Bordeaux family. The estate takes its name from Jean Desmirail, an eighteenth-century parliamentarian who received the vineyard as a dowry.
Initial de Desmirail is the second wine: elegant, silky and unmistakably Margaux in its perfume, and a considerably gentler introduction to a classed growth than the grand vin.
