Bodegas Gallegas

Bodegas Gallegas sits in the Salnés Valley of Rías Baixas, just five kilometres from the Atlantic, and is run by brother and sister Manuel and Myriam Vázquez. Their winemaker, Olga Verde Vieitez, is a former sommelier who refined her craft in Madrid, Chile and New Zealand, working alongside a network of local growers across the region's subzones.

Rías Baixas is among the rainiest corners of Spain, a maritime climate that suits the late-ripening, thick-skinned Albariño perfectly. Fruit is drawn from Val do Salnés, Condado do Tea and Ribeira do Ulla, each lending its own accent: the coastal Salnés gives the most aromatic wines, the warmer Condado fuller body, and the cooler Ribeira do Ulla greater structure and acidity.

Every plot is farmed sustainably and vinified separately in stainless steel, then blended for purity and consistency. The result is a pair of beautifully fresh Albariños that speak clearly of the Galician coast.
