Bodega Garzón

Bodega Garzón is Uruguay’s most celebrated estate, the vision of Alejandro and Bettina Bulgheroni, set on granite hills in coastal Maldonado just twenty kilometres from the Atlantic. Planted from 2008 across more than a thousand individual plots, it is a benchmark for South American fine wine.

The estate’s decomposed-granite soils, known locally as balasto, and the cooling ocean breezes give wines of mineral tension, freshness and finesse. Guided by consultant Alberto Antonini and winemaker Germán Bruzzone, and housed in the first LEED-certified winery outside North America, Garzón has earned worldwide acclaim.

Tannat and Albariño are the flagships, the latter from the largest Albariño vineyard in the Americas, alongside polished Cabernet Franc, Marselan and the icon blend, Balasto.
