The wine

A youthful Pinot Noir showing great purity of fruit with blackberry and blackcurrant aromas leading to a smooth palate with silky tannins and a black cherry finish. Pinot Noir this far south is unusual and demands careful site selection. Organic, HVE Level 3 certified fruit from close to the Mediterranean.

Villa Noria is the work of two friends, Fabien Gross and Cedric Arnaud, who grew up among vines in the Languedoc and Alsace respectively. What they inherited from their winemaking families was less a business than an attitude: enthusiasm, ethics and a deep respect for the land.

The estate sits a short distance from the Mediterranean, between Pezenas and Montagnac. The vines are organic and HVE Level 3 certified, farmed in step with the surrounding landscape rather than against it, and the winemaking is deliberately traditional, without chemical additions and with only low doses of sulphur.

The range stretches further than most. The Amfora and Basic Instinct bottlings are made with no added sulphur at all, and the Levin 0% line offers a genuinely well-made zero-alcohol option, which is rarer than it sounds.
