Trinity Hill Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2025
£13.75
The wine
Sauvignon Blanc from Hawke Bay rather than Marlborough, which makes for a noticeably different wine: riper, rounder and less overtly herbaceous than the style New Zealand built its reputation on.
Hawke Bay is the country oldest wine region and its warmest of any consequence, better known for Chardonnay, Syrah and Bordeaux varieties. Sauvignon grown here keeps citrus and stone fruit in place of the passionfruit and cut grass of the south. Fermented cool in stainless steel with no oak.
The producer
Trinity Hill
View all Trinity Hill winesTrinity Hill is one of the defining names of Hawke's Bay and a pioneer of the Gimblett Gravels, the warm, free-draining district that has become New Zealand's finest home for Syrah and Bordeaux varieties. The estate helped prove what this remarkable terroir could do.
From its Hawke's Bay range of bright, accessible wines to the concentrated Gimblett Gravels bottlings, Trinity Hill farms with an eye for both freshness and ripeness, drawing structure and spice from the sun-warmed stones.
The Gimblett Gravels Syrah and the flagship Homage are benchmarks of the New World for this grape, peppery and profound, while The Gimblett red and the 125 Chardonnay show the estate's range. The Hawke's Bay wines offer the same craft in a more immediate style.
Ambitious, age-worthy and proudly of their place, these are wines that put a region on the world map. Discover the estate that helped define the Gimblett Gravels.
