The wine

Vibrant ruby red, with strawberry, plum and subtle spice from French oak.

All estate fruit. Pinot Noir needs the cool that the Great Southern southern reaches provide, close to the Southern Ocean at Albany. The Great Southern is enormous and sparsely planted, running from the coast at Albany inland to Frankland River, and its distance from anywhere keeps growing costs high and volumes low. What it gives in return is a long, slow ripening season and wines of unusual definition.
