Thierry Drouin Saint-Véran La Côte Dorée 2024
£20.75
The wine
From the golden slope, as the name has it: a riper, rounder Saint-Véran than the Plaisance, with white peach and citrus over a gently creamy texture and a clean mineral finish. The upper tier of the Drouin range, and still remarkable value.

View all Thierry Drouin winesThierry Drouin is based in Vergisson, between the landmark rocks of the Roche de Vergisson and the Roche de Solutre. He founded the winery in the 1980s and has meticulously cultivated Pouilly-Fuisse, Saint-Véran and Mâcon ever since.
In 2012 his son Charles-Edouard joined him, and the quality-conscious pair built the range together. Thierry officially retired in 2021, though anyone who knows the Maconnais will guess how much time he still spends among the vines.
