Charly-sur-Marne lies fifty kilometres east of Paris in the Vallée de la Marne, where Meunier dominates the plantings: the variety buds later and ripens earlier than Pinot Noir, which suits the frost-prone valley floor. It brings a forward, fruity generosity to a blend in which Chardonnay and Pinot Noir supply the structure and the length.
