Seghesio Sonoma County Zinfandel 2023 (37.5cl)
£17.75
The wine
Richly textured and elegant, brimming with blackberry, blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry.
Drawn from several Sonoma appellations including Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley. Zinfandel is genetically identical to Italian Primitivo and to Croatian Crljenak, and it ripens very unevenly, with some berries raisining on the bunch while others are still green, which is why picking decisions matter more here than with almost any other variety. Seghesio was founded in Sonoma in 1895 and the family name became one of the most respected in the county, built on old-vine Zinfandel from plantings that predate Prohibition. This is the half bottle.
