The wine
The fresh, floral nose opens with bright citrus notes complemented by a touch of honeysuckle. Crisp, with tangy citrus notes on the exquisitely balanced palate, this creamy Chardonnay is smooth on the finish.
R Collection carries the broad California appellation, which permits fruit from anywhere in the state and lets the winemaker blend for consistency across regions. The Raymond family arrived in Napa in 1933, the year Prohibition ended, and founded their own estate in Rutherford in 1970.

Raymond Vineyards
View all Raymond Vineyards winesThe Raymond family arrived in Napa in 1933, the year Prohibition ended, and founded their own estate in Rutherford in 1970. It has grown from 36 hectares to 121 across Rutherford, St Helena and Jameson Canyon.
The Rutherford and St Helena vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic, and the winery runs entirely on renewable power, which is unusual at this scale in Napa. Rutherford is the valley's historic heart, a gravelly alluvial bench on the western side whose Cabernet carries the dusty tannic signature growers call Rutherford dust.
The range is deliberately tiered. R Collection carries the broad California appellation and is made for everyday drinking; Reserve Selection comes from the Napa Valley estate vineyards and is a different proposition entirely. Having both makes the price difference between a state-wide blend and Napa fruit unusually easy to taste.
