Poggiotondo Organic Chianti 2025
£14.45
The wine
Deep garnet red. Dried oregano entwined with dark and red cherries, and ripe cherries on the palate.
Sangiovese is Italy most planted grape and the backbone of Chianti, high in acidity and tannin with a sour-cherry signature. Concrete and untoasted oak keep that character clear rather than covering it. Poggiotondo is Alberto Antonini estate at Cerreto Guidi in Tuscany, certified organic since 2014, working with concrete tanks and untoasted oak so the fruit is not overlaid with wood flavour.

View all Poggiotondo winesPoggiotondo is an organic family estate in the hills of Tuscany, where the Antonini family farm Sangiovese and native varieties with a deep respect for the land. Their wines are honest, characterful and genuinely reflective of their Tuscan home.
Farmed organically on fossil-rich soils, the vineyards yield fresh, savoury fruit that speaks clearly of place. Winemaking is gentle and traditional, aiming for purity, drinkability and true Sangiovese character.
The range runs from bright, organic Chianti and Chianti Superiore to the structured Chianti Classico and the old-vine Riserva bottlings, alongside crisp Vermentino and delicate Rosato from shell-rich Conchiglie soils.
Fresh, authentic and thoughtfully farmed, Poggiotondo offers real Tuscan character and organic integrity at a genuinely welcoming price.
