The Stags Leap District takes its name from the palisade of rock at its eastern edge, and the volcanic soils and afternoon shade from those cliffs give a Cabernet with silkier tannins than the rest of Napa. It was one of the first sub-appellations of the valley to be recognised. Pine Ridge work five sub-zones of Napa, with four vineyards in the Stags Leap District, three in Rutherford and others across the valley.

Pine Ridge Vineyards is a distinguished Napa Valley estate, founded in 1978 and renowned for its holdings across some of the valley finest appellations, including the prized Stags Leap District. It has long been a byword for classically styled, terroir-driven Californian Cabernet.
