Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi Bourgogne Côte d’Or Clos de la Chaise Dieu Blanc 2023
£25.95
The wine
Bright pale gold, powerful on the nose with white peach, mango, grapefruit, lemongrass and a hint of vanilla.
A monopole vineyard, owned outright by the domaine, in the commune of Saint-Aubin on a south-south-west facing hillside close to the château own En Vesveau. Being bottled as Bourgogne Côte d Or rather than under the village name keeps the price well below what the site would otherwise command. Gently pressed and fermented under temperature control.

Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi
View all Domaine du Château Philippe le Hardi winesDomaine du Château Philippe le Hardi is one of Burgundy largest single estates, centred on a historic château in the Côte Chalonnaise. Named for the medieval Duke Philip the Bold, who championed Pinot Noir, it farms an impressive spread from Mercurey to the grand crus of the Côte d'Or. Few domaines offer such range.
The estate farms sustainably across a mosaic of terroirs, vinifying each with care and well-judged oak. From everyday Bourgogne to grand cru, the wines share a house signature of balance, freshness, and polish. There is real quality at every level.
The range spans crisp Chalonnaise whites, characterful Mercurey reds, and a fine selection of Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune crus. Each traces the character of its appellation with confidence.
To pour a Philippe le Hardi wine is to taste the breadth of Burgundy from a single, storied estate. Polished, balanced, and dependable, these are wines for every table.
