Patrick Sullivan Camp Hill Gippsland Chardonnay 2025
£47.95
The wine
Vibrant white peach, ripe nectarine, lemon zest and subtle toasted hazelnut. Powerful yet precise.
Camp Hill is the second of the named Gippsland sites, made alongside Ada River so the two can be compared directly. Gippsland is a vast, sparsely planted region running east from Melbourne to the coast, cool and maritime, and its scattered growers work sites too small and too remote to interest larger companies. It has become one of the more closely watched corners of Australian wine.
The producer
Patrick Sullivan
View all Patrick Sullivan winesPatrick Sullivan is one of the most exciting names in Australian wine, a cult grower working with a low-intervention philosophy in the cool, green hills of Gippsland, Victoria. His wines have a devoted following for their energy, purity and sense of place.
Farming organically and biodynamically, Sullivan tends and sources from carefully chosen sites, letting the vineyards speak through wild ferments and a gentle hand in the cellar. Nothing is forced; everything is about texture, tension and freshness.
Chardonnay is the calling card, from the taut, mineral Ada River and Camp Hill single-site bottlings to a brilliantly drinkable estate cuvee. Each is precise, flinty and alive.
Distinctive, honest and quietly profound, Patrick Sullivan makes wines that reward attention, benchmarks for the new wave of cool-climate Australia.
