The wine

Intense aromas of dark stewed fruit are complemented by delicate spicy notes. Rich and smooth, the palate is beautifully balanced with wonderful purity of fruit. Old-vine Carignan, long dismissed as a workhorse and now increasingly prized where the vines are old enough to have earned their keep.

Olivier Coste grew up playing in the vineyards and cellar of his family estate, founded at Pezenas in 1701. That upbringing left him with a lasting attachment to the Languedoc and to the wines of southern France.

The vineyards lie a few kilometres from Pezenas, close enough that the Mediterranean shapes the growing season. The estate is HVE Level 3 certified and carbon neutral, keeping emissions to a minimum and offsetting the remainder through ecological projects, with solar installations extending the commitment further.

The Solis Lumen range takes its name from the light of the sun, a nod to the sea, sun and wind that shape these wines. The Stars range is aimed at drinkers who want something modern, fresh and fruit-driven.
