Offley Forrester Reserve Port
£15.95
The wine
An intense red ruby hue with an elegant bouquet dominated by ripe red fruit and some floral and spicy notes. Finely balanced on the palate.
Reserve is a step above ruby: a blend of better parcels aged rather longer in large vessels before bottling, richer than the standard but still built on fruit rather than oxidation. The name honours Joseph James Forrester, the nineteenth-century Offley partner who mapped the Douro and campaigned against the adulteration of port, and who drowned in the river in 1861.

Offley
View all Offley winesOffley is one of the great historic Port houses, founded in 1737 and long celebrated for its rich, characterful wines from the Douro Valley. Closely tied to the legendary Baron Joseph James Forrester, it remains a benchmark name in the world of Port.
The house draws on prime vineyards in the dramatic, terraced Douro, where the traditional Port grapes ripen under an intense continental sun. Careful vinification and patient cask and bottle ageing produce Ports of depth, warmth and consistency.
The range spans the full spectrum of Port, from bright Ruby, refreshing White and Rosé styles to smooth cask-aged Tawnies at ten, twenty and thirty years, the ready-to-drink Late Bottled Vintage, a rare single-harvest Colheita and powerful declared Vintage Ports built for the cellar.
Rich, generous and steeped in history, the Ports of Offley are a wonderful introduction to the Douro's greatest wines. They bring warmth and celebration to every occasion.
