The wine
Timorasso is a white grape of the Colli Tortonesi in eastern Piedmont that came within a handful of hectares of extinction in the 1980s.
Its revival is largely credited to one grower, Walter Massa, who refused to grub it up, and it is now regarded as one of the most serious white varieties in Italy: full-bodied, mineral and capable of ageing a decade, which almost no other Piedmontese white can manage. Mura Mura is a young Piedmontese estate with holdings at Costigliole d Asti, Barbaresco and Serralunga d Alba, the founders having come to wine from a background in farming.

Mura Mura
View all Mura Mura winesMura Mura is a dynamic modern estate in Piedmont, crafting characterful wines across the region's great appellations and native grapes. With a fresh, quality-driven outlook, it has quickly won admirers for elegance and authenticity.
Working in the Langhe and beyond, Mura Mura champions both the noble Nebbiolo and lesser-known Piedmontese treasures. Careful farming and thoughtful winemaking give wines of purity, perfume and a bright, contemporary energy.
The range reaches from the single-cru Starderi and Roncaglie Barbarescos and an approachable Langhe Nebbiolo to the rare, ageworthy Beatrice Timorasso and a characterful Garibaldi Grignolino. Each explores a different facet of Piedmont.
Elegant, fresh and full of personality, the wines of Mura Mura offer a modern take on classic Piedmont. They reward the curious with genuine distinction.
